my life as is

Archive for April 2010

A number of projects are on my mind that I totally want to finish up this month.

  1. master bathroom is i could call it that. seriously it depresses me everyday. I just cleaned scrubbed the white beige tiles and they are still looking depressing especially after being at Zenon(new client) bathroom with its white shiny tiles. Ours are just too depressing and dangerous they are all cracked and broken. ok not all of them but some of them. I`m sure to redo them wont cost more than 10k. not including the kitchen ones. DH also promised to get bathtub for the bathroom. Getting a new shower head definitely.
  2. finish up the bedroom. most definitely after the SA trip scheduled at the end of this month. Cant wait for some much-needed shopping. This is the proposed layout though will swap the bed and the chaise.
  3. sort out my closet. i need to put away all my clothes I cant fit right now. Or maybe I should leave them and be inspired to lose this weight. I think im on schedule. the drinking water only I can only manage it during the week weekend I usually give in but guess that’s better than nothing i have reduced my drink = sugar intake. yipi. I still monitor what I drink anyway only one a day.
  4. get lighting for the eating area and remove that fan that’s not working.
  5. I hate the site of the cables around the TV. So i want to get a TV frame done. still to look for a design I like. will ask Kenny- carpenter for a quote. Hope will get time this week to finalize on a design.

See do need to do something about the cables. It’s just too cluttered, with the cables all over the place.

Hope my projects wont suffer because of this new client no time for wakadube (going shoping during office hours).

I had since promised my bedroom mood board and here it is.

My carpet is detailed I mean it has pattern lol. So I will try to keep everything else quite simple especially the big items that will sort of torn down the ‘design’ on the wall to wall carpeting.

1. I love these table lamps form Additions Direct. The only thing that has stopped me from buying them is that I fear they might break while being shipped here.

2. The mirrors. You know I love the whole idea of mirrors behind lamp. I have two options no frame (very affordable) with stencil design or framed mirrors from Game issue is they are quite price but they will be easiest option. Will pick them up and just hang them no drilling needed unlike the frameless one which are for the price if two huge ones I can only by one small framed one, yet I want the huge one.

3. Wall paper. To be the feature wall behind the bed. Will try to use akara (Zambia clothe) instead of it. DH bought it off one lady in his office. If it doesn’t work out will remove it.

4. Four picture frames. Just haven’t decided on the colour, cream, white, gold or brown. Wasn’t thinking of putting any actual pictures thou not sure what as of now.

5. Plain shiny chocolate curtains or the curtains in my living room and will replace those.

6. Two black and chrome floor lamps already on their way to Lagos. One will definitely be behind the chaise chair. The other somewhere in the room.

7. Chaise chair – drama behind this ooh. Had ordered one and was to be delivered before Easter and the they postponed. After Easter they postponed and I decided enough is enough these guys are charging me store prices won’t take it so requested for my refund. I did manage to order it again close to my house. Delivery next week.

8. The two square cushions will be on B on the chaise.

9. Then these two will be on A.

10. Rug on its way to Lagos 🙂

I’m sorry I have been MIA but I knew this would happen once I got a new project. I’m supper busy and my body can feel the beginning of a stressful yet exciting journey. Won’t keep you guessing for long. I got a new project. I decided I’m done with sitting in the office becoming fat and as Femi said stale. So got a new offer where I will earn roughly what I was earning but instead of being bored the whole day I will be talking and cracking my head. For real I took offense at being called stale because I was at a one client for nearly two years doing support but in honest truth it is true so I quickly got over it. I definitely need to catch up and I hope more new projects will come up I do still want to remain relevant but being stuck at multi links was kinder it for me.

So will dedicate my Friday night for posts if I’m not too tired and after watching Fringe. I love it. DH sleeps though it but I’m always wide awake with my heart in my throat.

Anyway this weekend I need to do the following

1. Clean my car – inside. OMG its horrible there was even a smell of stale something on Sunday and Monday thank God 9ja is hot the smell quickly went away.

2. Dust of all the fans. Dare I post a picture I think so. done 🙂 see picture below

3. Try to run. I have been running rapidly walking every morning for about 40minutes and the treadmill says I burn about 400 calories. Weekends are usually difficult for me.

4. Update this blog man it’s been long.

5. Remove cobs all over the house. Man I need a maid really.

Happy weekend everyone!!!!

While in Egypt I bought this

1000 thread count

I had never heard of 1000 thread count so jumped at it. And they do feel heavenly. sigh. I needed a second pair and couldn’t bring myself to pay about usd250 again for a pair so got these as well

I did try picking neutral colors that go with everything that I already have. These are just sheets and pillow cases. Can`t wait to try them out this weekend.

Mad love:-)

PS I had planned on buying Egyptian cotton sheets I just didnt know they would be this expensive.
